Sculptor Norman Grochow-ski of Crescent City recently landed a multi-project contract in Topanga — a first in his 40-year career.

He will create a monumental sculpture at Topanga Public Library for the Los Angeles County Art Council.

With his new job comes a commission to elaborate the original theme by also creating several smaller sculptures on the main entry plaza for that city's library.

Grochowski was chosen for the project because of his past work, "Tree of Mystic Life," which stands at the Cross Creek Plaza in Malibu.
