BROOKINGS Joan Hauk-om of the American Cancer Society is the featured speaker April 7 for the Tea at Ten event at Bree's Upscale Resale Store in Brookings-Harbor. Haukom, the society's quality of life manager, has worked out of the Medford office for six years and serves six southern Oregon counties. She manages all of the society's volunteer-managed service programs, and has recently focused on opening Cancer Resource Centers in hospitals and cancer treatment centers. Bree's Foundation is a nonprofit that provides free counseling and resources to women fighting breast cancer. Tea at Ten is held each Saturday at the store, located in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. |
