The Del Norte High boys tennis team fell to the juggernaut known as the Arcata Tigers Saturday at home. Arcata swept Del Norte 9-0 to improve to a sterling 9-0 record this year. The mark is so good, in fact, that the Tigers have not even lost a single match, single or doubles this year. The Warriors fell to 5-4 for the year. Del Norte has had a few game good games the past week. On March 23, the Warriors were able to win a close match 5-4, against Coast Prep at home. On March 21, Del Norte defeated Fortuna 6-3 on the road. Against Arcata, Blake Polidore of the Warriors lost to Casey Mansfield of the Tigers by the score of 0-6, 0-6. No. 2 Del Norte player David Standring lost to Alex Kusmak 2-6, 1-6. Ben Tell of Del Norte lost to Charlie Hankin 0-6. 3-6. Chad Richins was defeated by Ben Miller of Arcata 0-6, 1-6. Joel Bruhns of the Warriors lost to Edward Hunter 0-6, 0-6. Alex Chou of the Warriors lost his match to Erik Martini 1-6, 0-6. Kong Her and Angelo Yates each lost to Kevin Woolley. In doubles, Polidore and Standring were defeated by Mansfield and Kusmak 0-6, 2-6. Tell and Richins lost 3-6, 1-6 to Hankin and Miller. Bruhns and Chou lost to Hunter and Martini 2-6, 2-6.
