Members of the California Transportation Commission voted Wednesday not to share bond money approved last November by voters to pay for a bypass of the Willits section of U.S. Hwy. 101 in Humboldt County.

At isse was spending $177 million on the long-delayed Willits Bypass project.

A last minute effort launched by Assemblywoman Patty Berg failed to stave off a group of Bay Area leaders who suggested that Willits should get none of that money.
