Sheriff's deputies found the body of Taryn Taylor, the Crescent City woman who has been missing since last weekend.

On Friday afternoon, Del Norte County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered Taylor's body buried on the Green Diamond Resource Company's property. Preliminary signs point to a drug overdose as the cause of death, they said.

Law enforcement was informed that Taylor, 41, had died when they received a call from some of her acquaintances. These people said they dumped her body on an abandoned couch on the Green Diamond property. A clean-up crew, hired by Green Diamond, then buried the couch.

When deputies investigated the site, they located Taylor's body.

An autopsy will be performed on Monday to confirm the cause of Taylor's death.
