Patty Berg named chair of Legislative Women group

The Legislative Women, the largest caucus in the state Legislature, named Assemblywoman Patty Berg, D-Eureka, as chairwoman Wednesday.

"I am deeply honored to be the chair of he Legislative Women's Caucus," said Berg, whose district includes Del Norte County. "California is fortunate to have so many talented and dedicated women in the Legislature, and I am very fortunate that these women have chosen me for a position of leadership."

The 34-member caucus promotes legislative and budget policies to improve the lives of women, children and families throughout California. The caucus also seeks to empower women to be self sufficient, independent and equal partners in all aspects of their lives.
