Give Rollercade more support

My family and I have been attending the Rollercade on Friday and Saturday nights at The Del Norte County Fairgrounds.

It is one of the last positive, well-supervised places for kids to go and have fun. I think a big thank-you is in order for John Horner, recreational supervisor for the county, and the rest of the staff at the Rollercade, who devote their weekends to helping make sure all the kids are safe.

One thing that could make this event better is a little more community support. At least show some courtesy to the staff and ensure your children’s safety by picking them up on time.

Kudos to the parents who aren’t afraid to get out there and skate with their kids. One more adult out there really makes a huge difference.

Paramedics responded quickly

I wanted to take the time to thank the paramedics who came to my house the night of Oct. 15, Liz and Ryan.

Thanks for responding so quickly. That was the first time my son has had a febrile seizure. It’s people like you that make a difference, and I also wanted to thank all the EMT staff for doing their jobs so well, including Chris Hunt.

You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.
