Someone must have it in for Alexander or we’ve been duped

It’s hard to know what to believe when the news is so unbelievable. The dark side of people and politics usually turns up when there is a revenge-seeking agitator in the works. Someone must really have it in for District Attorney Jon Alexander or else we’ve been seriously duped. The scathing article appearing in the Sacramento Bee Feb. 26 blisters with accusations against Alexander. The Del Norte Triplicate summarized the piece in its Feb. 28 story (“DA a hot topic in Sacramento”), rightly stating that much of the material presented in the Bee has previously been published in this paper.

Local attorney Karen Olson plays a significant part in both articles, giving weight to the argument condemning Alexander. How is it then that in a letter to the editor in The Daily Triplicate on Oct. 16, 2010, Ms. Olson writes in support of DA candidate Alexander? She says, “I have seen his work ethic, which is as solid as it comes.”

Inmates serve inordinate amount of time for non-violent crimes

Jerry Brown, in his short term as governor, sanctioned the release of murderers from California prisons.

I correspond with an inmate serving a life sentence for bank robberies. He neither killed nor assaulted anyone during his bank robbery sprees. In my opinion, the bank robbers’ sentence of life in prison is a heinous crime committed by the criminal justice system based on his ethnicity, culture, and politics — radicalism. Who are the real criminals in this system?
