Karen Kay Claussen died March 5, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Born December 22, 1945, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, She traveled all over the world with her family before graduating from UC Berkeley in 1970. She moved to Crescent City in 1992, where she established a successful tax and translation business.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Bonnie and Gertrude Claussen.
Surviving is her husband of thirty years Dave Bosteder, son Nicholas Bosteder and grandson David Bosteder all of Crescent City, brothers Bonnie Claussen of New Mexico, Warren Claussen of Italy, Eric Claussen of California, and Andy Claussen of South Carolina.
Memorials may be made to the Evergreen Lodge, 2700 Dolbeer Street, Eureka, CA 95501.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
