Arcata scored 9 runs combined in the fourth and fifth innings to defeat the Del Norte High baseball team, 10-0, in a five-inning game Tuesday at Del Norte High School.

“The first three innings were the best I’ve seen (the team play),” Warriors coach Jared Wells said.

“(Starting pitcher Jonathan Calderon) had a really good first three innings. Then a few runs were scored, (there were) a few errors here and there, and it all kind of goes downhill.”

Del Norte, now 0-6 (0-5 Humboldt-Del Norte League) on the season, faces McKinleyville in a make-up game Monday at 4 p.m. in McKinleyville.
