Neoma Lee Haggard went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 30, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Neoma was born on June 30, 1924, in Graysonia, Ark., to parents, Minnie Wilder Johnson and Jewell Ray Johnson. After marrying Harlo Haggard on May 30, 1946, they moved to Gold Beach, Ore. In 1957, they moved to Crescent City. Neoma was a devout Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Crescent City for over 50 years. She knew and loved Jesus and led her loved ones in how to live, walk, trust and rest in Him.
Preceding her in death was Harlo Haggard, her husband of 46 years and
brother-in-law Russell Martindale. Surviving are her children, Nona
Wilson and husband Dewey of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Mel Haggard and wife
Kathy of Crescent City; three grandchildren, Leslie Sailing and husband
John of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Shellee Magnuson and husband Joel of
Crescent City; Aimee Wilson and husband Byron of Ashland, Ore.; three
great-grand children, Logan Magnuson of Crescent City; Carly and Luke
Sailing of Broken Arrow, Okla.
Neoma is also survived by her brothers J.R. Johnson and wife Ruby of
Hope, Ark.; Marvin Johnson and wife Virgia of Crescent City; Eugene
Johnson and wife Sue of Glenwood, Ark.; and sister Anne Martindale of
Crescent City. She’ll also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
on Saturday, May 12. Neoma’s Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
on Saturday, May 12, at First Baptist Church of Crescent City.
