In loving memory of Mildred M. Sargent, who passed away on May 28, 2012. Born to Lucille (Hammer) Prauss and Joseph Prauss on June 10, 1927 in Dickenson, N.D.

She is survived by her loving husband Fred Sargent of 64 years.  Son Gary Sargent (Mary), daughter Tanya Stewart (Tom), four grandchildren Jennifer, Fred, Wendy and Jeff,  five great-grandchildren. Sister Verla Borges, brother Melvin Hamner. Brothers Ed and George Prauss preceded her in death.

The Sargent, Prauss and Borges families worked together in a logging business, moving from Prospect, Ore., to Blocksburg. Finally settling in Crescent City in 1959 enjoying a relationship of work and fun in a very close knit family.

Family and friends meant everything to Millie, she was the most loving and selfless person you could find. She would help anyone in need, always seeing the best in everyone, never expecting anything in return.

Millie enjoyed a lifetime of pleasures including reading, camping, looking for old bottles and treasures, bowling with the Gutter-Dusters, sewing and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She was very thankful for all her wonderful friends on South Bank Road. She loved having coffee with all and many good visits were had.

We feel very fortunate to have had such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend in our lives.

No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
