Jack Edward Luttrell, 82, passed away July 21, 2012, in  Crescent City. He was born January 7, 1930, Salem, Ill. Jack was a 62-year resident of Del Norte County. Jack honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict and was a former member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge. He loved NASCAR, woodworking and drove truck for 44 years and loved it. Jack cherished his family and was very proud of each of them. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Lois Luttrell of Smith River; children Frank Luttrell, Jack and Colleen Luttrell, Mike and Patti Luttrell, all of Smith River; and  Carla and David Samuelsen of Modesto, Calif.; grandchildren Curtis and Devon Luttrell of Guam; Ashley Luttrell and Martin Luttrell both of Smith River; Shannon and Ed Vleming of Eureka, Calif.; Jahna Connolly and Erik of Ashland, Ore.; Greg Samuelsen  and Chris Samuelsen; great-grandchildren Wyatt Luttrell, Bryce Luttrell both of Guam; Emily Seeger, Cameron Seeger both of Eureka, Calif., Royce Connolly, Eliza Connolly and Vivian Connolly all of Ashland, Ore.; sister Shirley and brother John both of Illinois.

Per Jack’s request, no services are to be held. Private interment took place at the Del Norte County Veterans Cemetery, Crescent City.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
