Stephen was born on August 17, 1954, to Emmett L. and Darlo Tourville in Fresno, Calif., and attended schools in Fresno and Lake Tahoe. He completed his formal education in 1972, graduating from Kenny High School in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

Stephen’s hobbies included building computers and fishing. He also enjoyed building hot rod cars and was very fond of his 1969 Cougar. Stephen was an artist and had a gift for building sculptures out of scrap metal. He especially loved building custom motorcycle sculptures. Although he never learned to read music, Stephen taught himself to play the guitar just from listening to music and playing the chords from memory. His favorites were songs by Neil Young and Led Zeppelin.

Stephen passed at his home in Fort Dick, Calif., on August 23, 2012, with his wife Bonnie and close friends Catherine  “Cat”  Walz and Lynette Sellers by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Bonnie Werb-Tourville; son Jonathon Tourville of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; grandchildren Joseph, Tiffany, Finn, Molly; brother Larry Tourville of Crescent City; sisters Lisa Ristine-Gamble of Oregon House, Calif., and Julie Tourville-Thais of Roseville, Calif.

Stephen was preceded in death by his son Jason Tourville of Forest Ranch, Calif., father Emmett Tourville and mother Darlo Tourville of Crescent City.

In lieu of services, his family will pay tribute to his life privately.
