Two men suffered slash wounds Wednesday night during an altercation in Crescent City near Cooper Street.

Around 9:52 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the vicinity of Grace Lutheran Church for a reported stabbing, said sheriff’s Commander Bill Steven.

Michael Clary, 25, was found with a long, deep slash to his arm, Steven said.

Clary told deputies a couple of people rode by on bicycles and  started an altercation with him, Steven said.

A few minutes later, a call was made to sheriff’s dispatch about a man in the emergency room at Sutter Coast with a stab wound, Steven said.

Harry “Duffy” Richcreek, 40, also had slash wounds to his arm and stated they came from an altercation in the same area where Clary was slashed, Steven said.

“Each one is claiming the other one approached him and assaulted him,” said Steven.

No arrests have been made as the incident is still being investigated, said Steven, adding no weapons have been found.

He said the men knew each other.
