Harold Antonio Esparza (Nov. 13, 1966 – Sept. 23, 2012)

 A much-loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Harold Esparza, 45, of Crescent City, passed away on September 23, 2012.

Born on November 13, 1966, in Crescent City, Harold has been a resident of Crescent City all his life. He is a Del Norte High School graduate from the class of 1985, a true warrior that loved Del Norte County and its beautiful outdoors. Hiking through the redwoods and visiting the Smith River was a passion of his that he did all his life.

 

Fourteen years ago, he married the love of his life, Esperanza, and acquired a special family that included his daughter Rosa and his son Francisco. Besides being an amazing family man, he was also a tremendous contributor to this community. He served 19 years with the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department, 15 years with the Crescent City Fire Protection District and 12 years with the Del Norte County Search & Rescue, a true public servant.

Harold  is survived by his wife Esperanza Esparza, son Francisco and daughter Rosa, all of Crescent City; his parents Braulio and Kathy Esparza of Crescent City; sisters Vicky Madruga and husband Tom of San Diego; Nancy Esparza-Vanpelt and spouse Jeff of Crescent City; Linda Esparza of La Mesa, Calif.; uncles and aunts Willy Beal of Bend, Ore.; Joe Beal of Auburn, Wash.; Art and Bonnie Beal of Sweet, Idaho; father-in-law and mother-in-law Reyes and Juana Ramirez of Crescent City; sisters-in-law, Veronica Hernandez and husband Manny of Riverside, Calif.; Irma Ramirez of Riverside, Calif.; Imelda Castaneda and husband Mario of Tustin, Calif.; Rosa Borges and husband Steve of Crescent City; brothers-in-law Gerardo Ramirez and spouse Chystyl of Central Point, Ore.; Enrique Hernandez, of Perris, Calif.; and all his nieces and nephews, Seth, Thomas, Adam, Mason, Julia, baby Manny, MarkAnthony, Alexis, Miranda, Jesse, Kyerah and Allie.

Harold was preceded in death by his grandparents Ernest and Lola Anthony.

A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Funeral Services at 10 a.m. Friday, September 28, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

The family is requesting that everyone who knew Harold attend the fellowship to be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church gym which will be held immediately following all funeral services.  St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is located at 319 E Street, Crescent City.
