The Smith River Heritage Association held its Fall Book Sale on Saturday at the Smith River Community Hall.

Proceeds from the sale benefited Friends of Del Norte Library and Smith River Library.

The Smith River Heritage Association was founded in 2009 and “strives to preserve structures and items of historical value and to encourage interactions with one another in our small community,” according to its newsletter. “It is comprised of an active group of citizens. Members are able to assist in different SRHA sponsored activities involved in the history of Smith River.”

For more information about SRHA go to www.smithriverheritageassociation.org or contact Colleen Luttrell 707 951 3372.

The Smith River Library is located on First Street and run by a staff of volunteers. More volunteers are needed.

It is open Monday through Friday, 2 p.m.-5 p.m. The library has five computers, a variety of books and an assortment of movies.
