Kerri Lynn Fittro-Kallman, 55, died November 2, 2012, at her family’s residence in Crescent City.

She was born on August 11, 1957, in Porterville, Calif., to her mother Martha Faye Goldsmith and her father William Lewis Fittro Jr.

Kerri had a love of creative ventures and the arts; she was a participant in theater and wrote fiction, reveling in the written word, and had an avid affection for reading. She was well traveled and throughout her life had opportunities to visit many parts of the United States, from Hawaii all the way to Florida, but always was able to call Crescent City home and returned to share in the natural beauty and sense of community. Many of the careers that she explored were television camera operator for a local station in Eureka and receptionist for the H.A.S.P. Program in its early days. She was blessed with a unique voice and enjoyed time as a radio disc jockey for KUBA in Yuba City, Calif., earning a commendation from the State of California for her continuous broadcast during the Linda-Marysville flood of 1996. She rounded out her working career as the lead auditor at Best Western PLUS Northwoods Inn, caring for weary travelers and excelling in keeping life running smoothly as we all slept. She had countless friends throughout the world, being an aficionado of the World Wide Web since its inception, and enjoyed the sharing of self and knowledge in its unrestricted forms. The biggest adventure that she successfully completed was that of being a wonderful mother. Though she only had four children, many people called her  “Mom.” She made herself available to be a calm ear for all who needed it, her gentle touch and wisdom was a continual loving support to the people around her. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children: Patricia Gayle Coburn, 32; Elizabeth Dawn Coburn, 32; John Charles Lewis Reeves, 30; and Stephen Lewis Reeves, 29. Grandchildren include Shaiila Rose Coburn, Kaiili Lynn Coburn, Malcolm Benjamin Coburn, Zion Fee-Bowers, Taelyn Reign Irene Halls, Kenneth Elijah Halls, and Abigail Glory Reeves.

Services were held at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church on Saturday, November 10, at 3 p.m.
