Joyce and Bob moved to Florida in 1983, where Joyce began her writing career. 1860 Texas life and the turmoil between cowboys and the Cherokee Indians was her favorite genre, within which she has five published novels. As an author, Joyce was passionate about assisting other writers. Joyce often provided editing services to budding writers and she and a co-founder, established the Southwestern Florida Chapter of Romance Writers of America. Joyce also donated the proceess of several of her novels to fight illiteracy. Joyce and Bob moved to Crescent City, to be closer to their daughter Coleen and their three grandchildren. Joyce leaves her husband Bob, daughter and son-in-law Vonda and Don Remington of Clovis, Calif., son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sandi Henderson of Escondido, Calif., daughter and son-in-law Coleen and Rob Parker of Crescent City, and three grandchildren, Jamie Parker of Boise, Idaho, and Robyn and Dru Parker of Crescent City.
