Nancy Murray
Nancy Murray was born to Mary and Reginald Hartley in Carleton near Skipton in Yorkshire, England, on December 12, 1928. After graduating from Skipton Girl’s High School she learned to operate the comptometer. This enabled her to work for Johnson and Johnson’s in England, RCA Victor in Toronto, Swift Meat Packers in Calgary, then Foremost Dairy in San Francisco.

She met and married Joseph Murray in San Francisco in 1962, and they raised their three children in Pacifica. Her last 20 years were confined to a wheelchair due to multiple sclerosis, but she still was able to travel to England, Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, France, Germany, and Mexico. She moved to Crescent City in 2001 to live with her daughter and passed away in Shingletown, Calif., while visiting her sons. She loved people and will be greatly missed by all her family.

Survivors include daughter Mary Martinez; son-in-law Jose; grandchildren Alexis, David, Victor, Jonathan, Christopher, Katherine, Rebecca, Teresa, Matthew and Elizabeth, all of Crescent City; from Shingletown: son Dominick Murray; daughter-in-law Annette; grandchildren Michael, Christina, Elizabeth, MaryAnn, Margaret, Audrey and Dominick. Also survived by son John Murray; daughter-in-law Denise; grandchildren Jacob, Jessica, Patrick, Joseph, Anna and Emily.

Services were held January, 26, 2013, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Shingletown.
