A 22-year-old Crescent City man died Saturday afternoon in a vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 101 near Wilson Creek Road.

Tucker N. Isenburg was traveling south on the highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 2007 Chevrolet Malibu going around a curve south of Wilson Creek Road at about 4:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

His vehicle slid into the northbound lane as a 1993 Infiniti J30 was heading north, striking the Malibu on its right side, CHP states.

Isenburg was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti, Philip Benner, 49, suffered moderate injuries and Perry Acton, 50, his passenger, suffered major injuries. Acton was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Eureka where he was listed in fair condition on Monday.
