Man arrested at RV park after complaints received

A search warrant served Thursday in an RV park in Crescent City Harbor led to a felony drug arrest.

Brian Michael Moore, 60, of Crescent City, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, keeping a place to sell/ use a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance, authorities said.

After receiving complaints from tenants of Bayside RV Park of suspected drug activity in a specific travel trailer, the Sheriff’s Office conducted surveillance of Moore’s residence over the past few weeks, which confirmed that there was suspicious foot traffic to and from the trailer, according to Sheriff’s Commander Tim Athey.

“They were able to get enough information to secure a search warrant,” Athey said.

On Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office served the search warrant, finding Moore,  prescription pills including Kadian (a morphine-based pain reliever) and methadone (a synthetic drug often given to recovering heroin addicts) and paraphernalia for using meth, Athey said.

“Mainly pills; that’s what he was known for,” Athey said. “That and people going to his trailer and using drugs.”

Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Griffin arrested Moore and booked him into the Del Norte County jail Thursday after the search, Athey said.
