An overturned semi-truck blocks both lanes of U.S. Highway 199 near mile-marker 26 around 4 p.m. Friday. After full closure for about an hour, the highway was opened to single-lane traffic the next three hours before totally reopening. The driver, Charles Statton, 54, of Brookings, lost control rounding a curve, spilling a plywood load onto the road, the California Highway Patrol said. Statton was not injured.
