The Del Norte High School Stage Band recently returned from the Reno Jazz Festival, where it placed fourth in its division of high school jazz bands.

The festival was held April 26–27 at the University of Nevada, Reno, campus.

Some of the students performed solos, including Molly Aton on vibes and vocals, Kira Standring on piano, Isaac Blundell on tenor saxophone, Kahliel Jones on guitar, Jonathan Martinez on drums, Blair Westbrook on saxophone and Strand Hill on trumpet. Many of the soloists received special award certificates for their performances.

Reno performers not pictured include Alec Westbrook, Brad Lee, Charles Lo, Brandon Bloyd and Mike Morris. The bands are directed by Dan Sedgwick, in his fifth year of teaching music at the high school.
