Del Norte Little League is making quite an impression in its first season as a member of Oregon Little League District 8.

Del Norte’s 11-12 Softball All-Stars won their first two games in postseason competition Saturday in Rogue River, Ore.

The Warriors began their day with a 31-0 beating of Rogue River Little League, and followed it up later with a 24-1 victory over Central Point (Ore.) Little League.

Central Point and Rogue River will play today at 5 p.m. for the right to face Del Norte in the 11-12 softball championship game at 8 p.m. at Rogue River High School.

The 11-12 Softball All-Stars are the first to play their end-of-season tournament. Del Norte Little League’s 9-10 Baseball All-Stars and 10-11 Baseball All-Stars begin District 8 tournament play on Saturday in Gold Hill, Ore. (Gold Valley Little League of Gold Hill is the tournament host.)

Game information for the Del Norte 11-12 Baseball All-Stars and Senior Softball All-Stars was unavailable at press time.

Del Norte Little League voted to join Oregon District 8 in December, after splitting from California District 26. The decision was made with the desire to keep Del Norte’s baseball and softball programs under the Little League organizational banner.
