Cleanup set for Sunday

On Sunday, citizens and neighbors will be conducting a roadside trash pick-up the length of Parkway Drive. All citizens are invited to participate in this community cleanup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will meet at the All Tribes Church on Parkway Drive at 10 a.m.

This cleanup is being coordinated by the Dundas Neighborhood Watch and was the idea of a 10-year-old member of the group who became concerned about the trash she saw while walking along Parkway Drive with her parents.

“When someone as young as 10 recognizes that there is a problem with trash, it sort of brings it front and center,” said neighbor Shelly Presler.

Roadside trash will be collected and bagged by volunteers for pick-up by the county Road Department. Bags will be provided as well as lunch. Gloves and orange safety vests will be available at the event, although  volunteers should bring their own if available. Safety vests and release of liability forms are required for this event.
