The Del Norte cross country team traveled to McKinleyville on Thursday for the team’s fourth meet of the season.

The Warriors all finished around the middle of the pack in the race.

Freshman Spring Wilson was the fastest girl, finishing 18th with a time of 24:55.02, and Junior Samantha Henkell was 20th overall with 25:01.15.

Guadalupe Gonzalez did not run in the race, instead playing in the soccer match at home against Brookings-Harbor.

The younger Warriors ran well for Del Norte. Freshman Garrett Galea paced the pack for the Del Norte boys, running the course in a time of 18:53.59 to finish 22nd. Fellow freshman Parker Thompson was right on his heals, finishing 23rd in 18:54.64. Senior Ryan Waite finished 27th and freshman Graeson Cameron was 34th.

“They did fine,” said Del Norte head coach Kirk Burrows. “We were in the middle of the pack and we stayed in the middle of the pack. The kids are improving each time, so it was good.”
