The California Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (CalARVC) recently elected Pamela Hintz of Village Camper Inn in Crescent City as its first female president in the history of the association.

“I’m thrilled to have a third-generation park owner at the helm,” said CalARVC Executive Director Debbie Sipe. “It’s in her blood and to have her represent parks at the top level is great.”

Village Camper Inn has 130 sites, including six park model cabin rentals. The park has been in Hintz’s family for three generations. Her grandparents, Irene and Fred Borath, established the park in 1972 and subsequently sold it to her parents, Ron and Martha Hintz, in 1986.

Pamela Hintz grew up working on the campground and currently manages it with her parents. “I’m involved in every aspect of campground operations,” she said. “I pay the bills. I do landscaping and maintenance. I handle advertising.”

She said she looks forward to improving campground operator membership and support for CalARVC, which remains one of the nation’s largest state campground associations.
