Beautiful faces

Have you ever seen more beautiful smiling faces than those of Sandy Hooper’s students (in the photo on the Feb. 25 Neighbors page, “Kids pitch in for shelter”)? As for me, never ever.

Thanks to each of you dear hearts and everyone involved in your fundraising efforts.

The costumed dogs were beyond precious just like each of you.

Food drive help

The local First 5 Service Corps VISTAS held a Community Food Drive from Dec. 16, 2013, through Jan. 20, 2014, to collect canned and non-perishable food, which was then distributed by the VISTAS on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 20, via Our Daily Bread Ministries.

We want to thank the Unified School District, the local schools that participated in collecting and donating food and all those who helped contribute and support this cause. We were able to collectively donate four boxes of food to those in need.

The First 5 Service Corps VISTAS have decided to continue supporting this effort by holding an ongoing Community Food Drive to help stock the pantry of Our Daily Bread Ministries. All canned food and non-perishables can be dropped off at designated boxes around the county or directly to Our Daily Bread Ministries.

Your contributions and support do make a difference. Let’s continue to work together to end hunger in Del Norte County.
