Christopher and Derek Snowden of Crescent City Boy Scout Troop #77 earned their Eagle rank last Oct. 3 and held their Eagle Court on Dec. 14.

Both Scouts had earned Boy Scout of the Year in August from the Redwood Gate District. Prior to receiving their new rank, Christopher was Senior Patrol Leader and Derek was Assistant Senior Patrol Leader in their unit.

The new Eagles plan to remain actively engaged in Scouting. Christopher is now the new Assistant Cub Master for Pack 4 out of Smith River and Derek is the new Assistant Scout Master for Troop #77.

By the end of this summer, both young men will be leaving for their new endeavor as soldiers in the United States Army.

They both graduated from Sunset High School in January. The twins are the sons of Charles and Fellisa Snowden of Crescent City.
