Cemetery work to continue Sat., March 15

In Oddfellows section, brush is cut, sites swept

Volunteers cut back overgrown landscaping and swept off relic grave sites at the International Order of the Oddfellows section of the Crescent City Cemetery on Feb. 22.

The work was approximately two-thirds completed, and will be concluded this Saturday at 10 a.m.

Volunteers will be greatly appreciated.

Here is a list of the volunteers who assisted Feb. 22:

From the Police Explorers: Elizabeth Mitchell, Sierra Sherman, Zeariah Schuessler, Maggie Aleman, Shayna Davis, Kayleah Davis, Jonathan Davis and Raeh Davis-McCubbin; from Home Depot: Carl McQuigg and Sylvia Shively; from Our Daily Bread: Scott Scherer, Darren Ransom, Jeff Huntington and Mark Ducey.

Other helpers included City Councilwoman Kelly Schellong, Lu Scott and family, David Short, Mahrie DeGenova, Amanda Marx, Kati Marx, Jada McBride, Tina Gaston, Brandon Coles and Danelle Bruce.

The event organizers were Lauren Blakely, Dave Cormack and County Supervisor Roger Gitlin.
