Chorale concert Tues. and Wed.

The Pacific Music Guild will present the North Coast Chorale under the direction of Christie Lynn Rust and the Crescent City Children’s Choir under the direction of Greg Goode at 7 p.m. on  Tuesday and Wednesday, May 6 and 7 in Joseph’s Catholic Church, 319 E Street in Crescent City.  Works to be performed include “Sircut Cervus,” “Mairi’s Wedding,” “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,”  “I’ve Got the Music in Me,” “Swinging on a Star,” “Something’s Coming” and “San Francisco Bay Blues,” among others. Suggested donation is $5; tickets are available at Del Norte Office Supply or the door.

Art in Public Places exhibit

The current Art in Public Places exhibit up in the Del Norte County Courthouse, “Stippling: The Art of Pen & Ink” is a one-person show by Del Norte artist Doug Minty featuring 14 highly detailed pen and ink sketches that are portraits of people and animals. Minty won third place recently in DNACA’s Juried Multimedia Exhibition for “Tennis Anyone?”. The courthouse is located at 450 H Street in Crescent City,and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays except for state holidays. Pistol River concert May 10

The Pistol River Concert Association presents Smooth Hound Smith in the Pistol River Friendship Hall on Saturday, May 10. This group will perform a modern interpretation of early blues, soul and rock ’n’ roll.  Tickets are $15 each and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing in Brookings, Gold Beach Books and the door.  A $5 student discount or refund is also available at the door.
