Local education officials are seeking community input today on its handling of emergencies at Del Norte County schools.

This meeting comes after the Del Norte County Unified School District went on “high alert” last Tuesday after a high school student posted what initially appeared to be a threat against an unspecified school in the county on the social media website
Whisper.com.

The student later stepped forward to accept responsibility for her post and said it was in connection to a Sims computer game.

The school district’s meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. today in Board of Trustees chambers at 301 W. Washington Blvd.
