The Del Norte Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on the 800 block of Murphy Street on Monday and found a large marijuana grow.

Deputies arrested Illian Ginamarie Quinones-Cruz, 32, at the house and seized 286 marijuana plants along with thousands of dollars worth of growing equipment, said Commander Bill Steven.

“This isn’t a grow in a garage and this isn’t a greenhouse out back,” Steven said. “This is a commercial grow house where every room in the house has marijuana.”

Steven said that with the exception of a small room just inside the front door containing a bed and television set, every room of the house was dedicated to the production and processing of marijuana. There was also evidence of a hash lab set up in the kitchen, Steven said.

Deputies were made aware of the residence on Murphy Street by tips from neighbors who reported frequent traffic at the house and a strong odor.

The Sheriff’s Office raided the same house on Nov. 14, 2013, and arrested Kenneth Saluk, 41, and Bruno Leite, 30.

“These guys are from the East Coast,” Steven said. “There is activity from that house for the second time in a year, and there is no evidence of a 215 (medical marijuana recommendation).”

Quinones-Cruz was booked into the Del Norte County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and cultivation of marijuana.
