Letters: Ramsey thanks supporters for help in Harbor Board race

November 21, 2008 12:00 am

As the smoke clears and the election is now officially over, and as The Triplicate says that I "rolled my way to victory," I wish to take this opportunity to say thank you.

There are so many people that I truly need to thank. First of all I need to thank my donors: Martha, Debra, Jim, and George and Melinda. Their time, effort and money was greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I would like to thank all the special people who worked long hours to help me get elected. These include, but are not limited to, the Art Gallery, the processing plant, Grace Lutheran Church, the Democratic Central Committee, the local plumbers' and labor board, Kurt and the many folks who let me put my signs out in their yards for a month. I know that without their hard work and support I would have never come close to being elected.

Finally, I need to thank all of you who took the time to go to the polls and vote for me. It is truly an honor for you to allow me to serve you, our families and our community in such an important position.

I can only hope that I can continue to work for and listen to you in assisting our community in making our harbor a better and more pleasant place for our families, our retailers and businesses, our fishing industry and our community. I look forward to hearing your ideas, suggestions, and comments in the coming four years. Please feel free to call or e-mail jamesramsey@

charter.net with any of your concerns or ideas. I will always try to be available to hear your voice.

Before closing, I wish congratulate all the newcomers to the Harbor Board. I look forward to working with you, as well as the returning members, on many rewarding and thoughtful projects in the coming years. Finally I wish the best of luck to the outgoing board. Once again, praise the Lord and thank you all for your support.
