Letters: B Street Pier sandwich, bait shop ought to be restored

November 02, 2008 12:00 am

When the B Street fishing pier opened a bait shop with souvenirs, sandwiches, etc., in a small trailer, it was a good idea and was a great assist to fishermen who used the shop.

There were some problems due to unprepared city guidelines and it closed. There is little doubt that one would really help all, including visitors. Rental crab rings and poles could be offered. Such a trailer can be very important, and naturally would need an alarm system, cell phone, etc.

If the city considers this, I'm sure it can be a small but great assist, even to police or patrols. I personally really liked it before, although it needed improvements. Lets hope that it is replaced; it would pay for itself and please many.
