Obituaries: Opal Barbara Wold(1918-2008)

Opal Barbara Wold passed away April 26, 2008, in Eureka. She was born Nov. 8, 1918, at the N.O. Mortensen family home on A Street in Eureka. This was her grandparent's home.

Opal attended grammar school in the old Requa School and later graduated from Del Norte High School in Crescent City.

She owned, named and operated the Beehive Soda Fountain in Klamath from the late 1940s until the early 1950s. Opal worked in the office of Arrow Mills in the Klamath Glen for many years.

On Dec. 3, 1959, she married Bill Wold.

She is survived by her husband, of Hoopa; brothers Brownlee Bush and Larry and wife Audrey Bush, all of Tillamook, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family member and many friends.

Opal was preceded in death by her mother Florence Wells, father Arthur Bush, brothers Warren and Norman "Mutt" Bush, sisters-in-law Helen Maurice Bush and Rina Mae Bush and a great nephew, Jordan Becker.

The family requests contributions be made in her memory to one's favorite children's fund.

Funeral services will be held at Wier's Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, 11 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited for a fellowship at the Hampton Inn, 100 A St., Crescent City, following interment.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
