Robert "Bob" Louis Ducat, 67, died April 21, 2008, at his home in Crescent City surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 25, 1940, in Green Bay, Wis., a son of Walter Antone and Bernoice Elaine (Depeaux) Ducat.

Bob was raised and attended schools in both Wisconsin and Klamath Falls, Ore., and had lived the last 40 years in Crescent City.

As a young man, he served four years with the U.S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged. He spent more than 40 years in the construction industry, both in Klamath Falls and Crescent City. He was a self-employed general contractor in residential construction, and built many homes in the area.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, and the birth of his first great-grandchild, Chloe, was a highlight of his life.

He loved animals, especially his two best friends—his dog "Stoney" and his cat "Boots." Survivors include his mother, Bernice Brustol of Crescent City; daughter, Denise Crowder, also of Crescent City; two sons, David Ducat and wife Natalie, and Danny Ducat, both of Redding; and daughter, Robin Ducat of Medford, Ore.; two brothers, Ken Ducat and Blaine Ducat, both of Crescent City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Chuck Vashaw of Klamath Falls; Diane and Pete Schulz of Hanover Park, Ill.; and Joan and Craig Caster of Klamath Falls; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his step-father, Martin Brustol.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sat., April 26, at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St., Brookings. Rev. Howard Ware will officiate.

Arrangements are being handled by Redwood Memorial Care, Crescent City.
