RED BLUFF — The Del Norte High boys varsity baseball team opened the season with a 10-1 loss to Red Bluff Friday night.

The Warriors fell behind quickly, making fours errors in the field as Red Bluff jumped to a 5-0 lead.

"It was a rough start for us," Del Norte head coach Pablo Lorenzi said.

The team settled down and played better, but was unable to mount a comeback, Lorenzi said. The Warriors had four hits in the game. Tyler Travis and Kyler Davis both had doubles.

Del Norte will play a doubleheader today. At noon they face Foothill High and at 5 p.m. Shasta High. Both are Redding area teams.

The Warriors play at home on Tuesday against Ferndale in doubleheader action. The first contest begins at 1 p.m.
