Crescent City Council is holding a special meeting to possibly approve a purchase and sale agreement to buy the former Bank of America, 240 H St for $180,000.
Interim City Manager Mike Young said the city has been looking for a new City Hall location for some time and had been budgeting money for a remodel of the current building.
“It looks like a great opportunity,” Young said. “It’s a good building, it’s larger and it would come at a good price.”
Mayor Blake Inscore said the downtown location and because the building has a single floor would be more suitable than the current location.
“I hope this is something we can take action on,” Inscore said.
Young said money for the purchase will come from the city’s capital improvement fund, which would be more than adequate to purchase the building.
The meeting starts 5 p.m. Monday at the Flynn Center.
