Arts for Veterans

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness invites veterans and their families to register for a new 6-week drawing class taught by Sara Dee Broderick starting up from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday October 14 at the Del Norte Senior Center at 1765 Northcrest Dr. All workshops are free-of-charge. DNACA’s Arts for Veterans program is funded in part through Veterans Initiative in the Arts, a program of the California Arts Council, a state agency. Brookings Art Walk

Music in the Redwoods

Music in the Redwoods 2017-18 concert season tickets are still available for discounted admission to the remaining three performances: Neave Trio, classical piano on Friday November 17; Two on Tap, classic song and dance on Saturday January 6; and Duo Baldo, classical and comical piano and violin on Sunday April 22. Crescent Harbor Gallery

Coast Redwoods Art Association’s Crescent Harbor Gallery will be showcasing their annual juried art competition for the month of October. October’s demo will be led by Pete Chasar with graphics-inspired painting in acrylics at noon on October 26 and will be preceded by a finger food potluck. Bring a dish to share and some friends. Their fall luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday October 21 for $10 per person. Every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. is Paint and Play day for children. Every Sunday from 1-4 p.m. are paint-ins, offering a space and good company for artists and crafters. California Redwoods Art Association

California Redwoods Art Association’s 2nd St Gallery will showcase the winners of their Juried Photography Show for the month of October. Become a member of the gallery and spend Saturday afternoons painting and networking from 1-3 p.m. Art classes for children take place on Saturday mornings. For more information, call 707-460-1414.

Art in Public Places

DNACA’s Art in Public Places show in the Del Norte County Courthouse is titled “Stories We Could Tell: Drawings, Paintings and Book Illustrations,” a multimedia collection by Marcia Voelker. DNACA’s 26th Annual Juried Show

The prospectus and entry forms are now available for the Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness 26th Annual Juried Multimedia Show. The show intake will be from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday November 16 in the Del Norte County Courthouse and the exhibit will hang until the reception from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday January 18.
