S lowpitch softball was back at Pyke’s Field on Monday as the Del Norte Recreation Department’s annual slowpitch softball leagues kick off their seasons this week.

The men’s league took to the diamond first, opening competition on Monday. There are a total of seven teams in the men’s league this year, which will play its games on Mondays and Wednesdays through August.

The co-ed league is scheduled to start games today, with games on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer. This year a total of 15 teams have signed up to compete in the Recreation Department’s co-ed league.
