The Del Norte Youth Wrestling program was back in action on Saturday, taking a total of 75 wrestlers down to Hoopa for the second tournament of the season.

Although the Warriors had a little fewer wrestlers than they did at the first tournament of the year, with some of their top youth wrestlers heading to Fresno to wrestle in the Folkstyle State Tournament, Del Norte had even more wrestlers place in the top two spots of their age and weight classes in Hoopa. The Warriors finished with a total of 20 first place finishes, and 21 runner ups.

Del Norte will be back in action in Eureka this Saturday. Del Norte head coach Clinton Schaad said he expects the tournament in Eureka to be one of the Warriors’ best-attended meets of the regular season.
