Christmas tree permits will be available online and at locations across southwest Oregon, including Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest district offices and Bureau of Land Management offices in Medford, Grants Pass and Coos Bay, beginning Nov. 8. 

Permits allow cutting personal-use Christmas trees and are required for each individual tree that visitors take home.  

The permits are $5 per tree and non-refundable. 

Theres a limit of five tree permits per household. The permits may be used only on lands open to Christmas tree harvesting that are administered by the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and the Medford and Coos Bay BLM districts. 

Free maps identifying these areas are provided when the permits are purchased, as well as on Avenza. 

New in 2019  the Rogue River- Siskiyou National Forest also is offering online permits, which can be printed out on a computer or mobile device.
