Art in Public Places    

Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness’ (DNACA) Art in Public Places exhibit in the Del Norte Superior Court at 450 H St in Crescent City is a collection from artist Arlene Krogstad entitled “Colorful Del Norte.” The exhibit is available for viewing through Aug. 13. The courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays except for state holidays. DNACA’s Art in Public Places exhibit on the mezzanine of the Del Norte County Regional Airport, 1650 Dale Rupert Rd. is an exhibition of works by Horst Wolf entitled “Random Ramblings”. This show is available for viewing through October 1. The airport terminal’s regular hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. California Redwoods Art Association    

Claire Heasler is the Artist of the Month at the 2nd Street Gallery. Other exhibits include Susan Humphry at the Del Norte County Library, Catherine Balck at the Wild Rivers Foundation offices, with Carol Long and Nancy Bachmann at the Sutter Coast Hospital Infusion Center. There are an additional 35 individual artists’ work on display in the Main Hall at Sutter Coast Hospital. The 2nd Street Gallery will be open by appointment only for the foreseeable future. Coast Redwoods Art Association     

Coast Redwoods Art Association’s Crescent Harbor Art Gallery, located at 140 Marine Way in Crescent City. The Artist of the Month is Bettie Belitz, who has created art works in clay, watercolor, pen and ink, acrylics, and oils. The Del Norte County Library at 190 Price Mall is also displaying work by Eva-Marie Tanner-Klaas. For more information, call 707-464-9133.   

Gallery of Arts and Culture    

The Gallery of Arts & Culture at 175 H St, Crescent City, is now open. Masks and gloves will be required according to the Department of Public Health, until they are certain the virus is abating. The callery has been sanitized and freshened, and is ready to welcome guests and visitors. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call the gallery at 707-464-4745. 


Second Saturday Downtown Art Walk

The 2020 Downtown Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk kicks off Saturday July 11, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with festivities at Manley Art Center at 433 Oak St., Brookings. A four-person show featuring Linda Evans, John Gehl, Sharon Guinn, and Peggy Patton will be displayed with drinks served outside, and Pete Chasar interviewing artists at 4 p.m. Also open for the Art Walk are Brian Scott Gallery at 515 Chetco Ave. featuring pastels by Les Cornish, and Forecastle Books at 547 Chetco Ave. featuring wood creations by Randy Pearson. Brian Scott Gallery   

Brian Scott Gallery, located at 515 Chetco Ave. in Brookings, showcases more than 25 artists. The Artist of the Month is pastel artist Les Cornish. Please visit the gallery, now open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. where you can enjoy ocean views from the third-floor patio. For further information, call 541-469-1241.  

Fog and Fine Art Gallery   

Located in Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supply, 810 Chetco Ave., Brookings, the Fog and Fine Art Gallery displays many local artists showing a variety of media including jewelry, pottery, painting, and more. The gallery also has a dedicated classroom that inspires new and seasoned artists with workshops. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Manley Art Center and Gallery    

Manley Art Center and Gallery at 433 Oak St. in Brookings is featuring artwork by Linda Evans, Sharon Guinn, Peggy Patton, and John Gehl through July 25.
