The Drive-through Live Nativity at Chapel of the Redwoods in Smith River will take place Dec. 16 and Dec.17 from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m., rain or shine.

Other churches willing to get involved are welcome to join and the first rehearsal will be 1 p.m. Sunday. Dress rehearsal is Dec. 3 and takes place at 2 p.m. Anyone interested may contact Barbara Gil at 707-954-5408 or the church office at 707-487-2051.

And it’s almost time. Just writing about this one every year makes me hungry.

The Grace Lutheran Christmas Bazaar will bring you all those wonderful goodies once again today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be loads of pies of so many different varieties and with a twist again this year — a special for folks who live alone — mini frozen pies.

There will again be that famous Grace Cooper seasoning salt and lots of handcrafted items. White elephants — perhaps just what you have been searching for — and again that luncheon of soup, bread, pie and a drink for a $6 donation from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

And it doesn’t stop there. You can do it all over again at the Holiday Bazaar at the United Methodist Church at Smith and Beckstead in Smith River.

Handcrafts, baked goods, assorted treasures and vintage collectibles will be on display for you to choose from and a homemade soup and bread luncheon begins at 11 a.m. both days, featuring at least four kinds of soup.

For questions call 707-487-3301. No one should go hungry these two days. You can go to one the first day and the other the second. And if you don’t find what you’re looking at the one, perhaps it will be at the next.

The next meetings for Temple Beth Shalom will be at the temple today at 10 a.m.

As other years, Pelican Bay EVFree church is the collection point for all out Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. The drop off schedule is as follows:

Monday through Nov. 20: Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Nov. 20: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

If you have any questions, call Bill and Wilma Ross, 707-464-2034.

From now on, I will be writing this column on Wednesday evenings instead of Thursdays, so you will need to get info to me by 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
