Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter introduced Del Norte County to the Celtic harp, the Swedish nyckelharpa, the Ukrainian bandura and the cittern on Friday.

More than 110 people packed the Del Norte County Library to hear them play traditional music from Sweden and Ireland as well as their own compositions.

Hailing from Oregon, Lynne and Frankfurter play at a variety of venues throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Lynne and Frankfurter are both multi-instrumentalists. Lynne gained worldwide recognition for her original music featuring the Celtic harp and has been featured on the Windham Hill/Sony record labels. Her work in therapeutic music and her Hands-on Harps program has gained national recognition.

Lynne’s music has also been featured on the PBS special “Alone in the Wilderness” as well as other soundtracks for commercial television and independent films.

Frankfurter has 17 albums to his credit, works on film and television scores as a composer and arranger and continues to teach himself to play a variety of instruments including the rare Swedish nyckelharpa.
