Klamath is gearing up to celebrate a prolific summer staple — the blackberry.
The 10th Annual Blackberry Festival will be held Sunday at the Camper Corral. The sable fruit will take centerstage at a blackberry pancake breakfast, a berry picking contest and will be featured in a plethora of pies, cobblers and jams, according to a press release from the Camper Corral.
Live music will be provided by the Mighty Steelheads. Youngsters will be able to construct a free project to take home courtesy of Home Depot, while the Boys and Girls Club of Klamath will provide more fun and free activities for kids.
Meanwhile, Sunny Baker and Rose Brown, of the SNAP-Ed program, will lead youngsters in a berry picking contest and cook up something healthy and tasty with the harvest.
The festival will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Klamath Camper Corral, 18151 U.S. 101 in Klamath. For more information, call Klamath Camper Corral at 707-482-5741 or Linda at 707-482-0385.
