An estimated 2,000 people turned out to enjoy the Christmas Light Parade in downtown Crescent City on Friday night.

As she waited for the parade to get underway, Katie Wakefield, dressed as a Christmas tree and representing SeaQuake Brewing and Remax Coastal Redwoods, said she was glad the parade continued.

“It just builds community for sure,” she said. “And it’s a fun event to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and the lights are beautiful and the businesses work really hard on their floats. A lot of work goes into stringing all those little lights and making sure htey work.”

This year’s parade winners are FedEx in first place, 4H in second place and Parkway Feed in third. SeaQuake won the Mayor’s Choice award.
