A 92-year-old Cave Junction woman was found safe and sound in Crescent City after a day-long search.

According to a report from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Claryce Bishop left her residence upset on Jan. 9, saying she wanted to hitchhike to California.

Bishop was found in Crescent City after hitchhiking from her residence, according to an updated report from JCSO.

The report said she suffers from dementia and has a history of walking and hitchhiking away from home.

She was taken to Sutter Coast Hospital for evaluation at the request of the Del Norte County’s Adult Protective Services office.

Her family was notified of her location.
